Equality Policy

Empower will at all times commit itself to equality amongst students and staff alike. Empower is cognisant of the Employment Equality act and all state equality legislation which prohibits discrimination under the following grounds: gender, marital status, age, sexual orientation, religious belief, disability, race, membership of the Traveller community. We will deliver our education and training in the spirit of this legislation at all times.

Empower and its employees commit themselves to Equality of Opportunity and to eliminate discrimination as defined under the terms of the current legislation, The Employment Equality Act 1998 and The Equal Status Act 2000. Empower is committed to promoting equality of opportunity throughout the organisation in the employment of all staff and the participation of learners in its services. We are committed to combating discrimination in all forms and to promoting and accommodating diversity.

Communications Policy

“Empower is committed to ensuring effective communication with our learners, staff and other stakeholders involved in our work.  We commit to provide accurate information about our courses and to seek constructive feedback so we can make sure our courses are relevant and useful to our learners.”

Fair and Consistent Assessment of Learners Policy

It is the policy of Empower to ensure that all learners receive fair and consistent assessment. We believe that to be effective, learners must be assessed on an equal and qualitive basis which is inclusive of diversity.  We commit to provide assessment procedures so that we can ensure that learners are enabled to develop to their full potential and achieve their learning outcomes for our courses.

Reasonable Accommodation

Empower will facilitate learners who may need extra support/resources in order to access assessment on an equal footing with other learners. Learners can request extra support by completing Empowers “Reasonable Accommodation form” and returning to Empower. This could include wheelchair access, language difficulties or disabilities etc.
